We were very excited when we saw that we were getting a new American Dad mobile slot.

Let’s be honest. American Dad is a crude, rude, kind of TV show about an CIA American family that live with an alien and a… nazi?… fish.

Now, don’t get us wrong, this has the same great animations and sounds you’d expect from Playtech online phone slots.

But… it’s never funny. Or particularly rude. Or even that crude.

Yeah, you’ve got Roger vomitting all over the screen, but I guess if you are going to do a game about an adult cartoon show, you might as well embrace the depravity.

However, the American Dad slot features are fun

The thing is, this could easily be an upside – you don’t need to have watched the TV series to appreciate some great bonus filled reels.

Wild: Stan the alien is the wild symbol and replaces all other symbols on screen - and seeing as he is a master of disguise, he turns into a different person on each win.

The Schmooblydong Wheel: Whilst Roger would say it's a wheel that is like "being high at a Rusted Root concert while two dudes take you on in a sun-baked porta-john".

But really it's just three wheels of fortune, one on reel 1, one on reel 3, and one on reel 5.

• Reel 1 determines which of the 5 character features you trigger
• Reel 3 powers up each feature in a different way
• Reel 5 tells you how many free spins you'll get

The Schmooblydong Special Features: So if you get the wheel on reel 1 and reel 3, you'll get one re-spin.

If you also get that wheel on reel 5, you'll get multiple free spins, from 3 to 25.

• Stacking Stan: The highest paid symbol of the lot, the wheel on reel 3 will determine how many stacks you'll get - though honestly, anything less than 5 or 10 doesn't do much.
• Roger's Random Wilds: Roger vomits random wilds on screen, and the wheel on reel 3 will determine how many random wilds you get per spin. This one is good, as you only need 3 to 5 to get good results.
• Francine's Holy Grail: Reel 3 determines how many Klaus (the fish) randomly land on the reels. If Francine then lands on Klaus, she will expand to cover the whole reel and turn wild. A great feature if it works, but honestly, it's the most unpredictable.
• Hayley's Progressive Multiplier: Hayley collects signature on every spin, and every time she's successful, she increases the win multiplier. This one is by far the most rewarding, but the hardest to catch. Especially if you get that elusive 10x multiplier to start with on reel 3 wheel.
• Wheels and the Legman: Here Steve and Roger show up on screen and give you random wilds. How many do you get per spin? As many as the wheel 3 says - though really you want about 5 to really make a difference.
