How To Play Monty Python’s Spamalot Mobile Slot
Based on the musical that was ‘lovingly ripping off’ the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, if these words mean nothing, then this Spamalot mobile slot will be wasted on you.
Monty Python have become ingrained in comedy culture. Though British in the best sense of the world, most have heard if not always understood, the 1970’s comedy genius group.
However, there’s no way to deny that this Spamalot slot is a required taste. Remaining faithful to the musical play and the original movie, Playtech have created a perfect tribute that will bring a smile to fans.
From caricatures of the Lady of the Lake, Sir Galahad, Sir Lancelot, Sir Robin and King Arthur, to the clippety clops of coconuts on the turn of every reel, this Arthurian tale is nonsensical but entertaining.
The variety of Spamalot bonus games
We say variety, but what we mean is different graphics for similar click me bonuses. We describe each in bonus-game feature in detail below, but needless to say, they are hilarious. The Knights of Ni, the Killer Rabbit and Flying Missile Cows all feature prominently as simple instant cash games.
You’ll be lucky to walk away with about 5x to 10x your bet however, so after you’ve been through them a couple of times, they can start to lose their charm, especially as they do come often. Some may view it as a good thing as they break up the game, others may see them as pointless distractions.
Which is half the problem with Monty Python’s Spamalot slot game. Unless you are a major Monty Python fan (we’d say we are somewhere middle of the range – we know the dead parrot joke, but haven’t seen every sketch) you may quickly tire of the slow action in the bonus game and the five reels.
Not hard hitting, but a big progressive jackpot
But then we had to stop and realise that as as jackpot slot Spamalot has plenty to recommend it. We were comparing it to the incredibly volatile The Incredible Hulk game, which came with the big thrills in every bonus game.
However, Spamalot is far more like the Gladiator movie slot, which brings a great theme and jackpot together, but isn’t big on giving you those big heart pounding wins or almost wins.
The big draw is the progressive Holy Grail Jackpot which starts as one of the highest of the Playtech jackpot slots at 50,000 in cash. The ‘slightly less’ holy grail jackpot (yes there’s two) starts at 150.
This you can only hit during the free spin round, which is a real killer rabbit to catch, but is worthwhile when you do – with or without the jackpot. It may take you a good 200 spins, but this feature is where all the good stuff is waiting.
And if you are happy to whistle to ‘always look on the bright side of life’ as you wait, then this Spamalot video slot machine is perfect for you.

Monty Python’s Spamalot Bonus Features
Wild Symbol: The Holy Grail symbol is wild and replaces all other symbols except bonus and scatters.
Bonus Games: If you get the bonus symbol shows up in reel 1 and 5, you'll trigger the bonus game. These come as 'acts' and follow each other in the order below.
Once you've played all five, it starts again with the Storm the Castle Bonus. Each pays more or less the same, so it's more in order to give you variety than any big wins.
Storm the Castle bonus: As the intrepid group of knights trying to storm the french occupied castle, you have to 'run away' in the right direction to avoid the falling cows.
This makes a whole load more sense if you're a fan of the movie.
You can pick from one of six spots, if the french miss, you get to pick again, until eventually, the cow doesn't miss and the round ends.
None Shall Pass: The ridiculously brave black knight is on your way. You must battle and slowly remove each of his limbs in four consecutive strikes. T'is but a scratch!
You start the round with a 5x multiplier. Each time you chop off a limb you win money, and if you miss, you lose one multiplier. After four strikes you get your final total.
The Knights Who Say Ni: It's the knights who say Ni! Ni! Ni! And you won't be able to get past them unless you find them a shrubbery. One that looks nice. And not *too* expensive.
You'll be taken to a separate screen where you'll pick from three possible shrubbery. You'll be given the value of the shrubbery by the Knights, and you'll be able to keep the cash or pick again if you don't like the amount.
However, once you pick for the third time, you'll have to take that prize and lump it. Generally if you find anything higher than 6x your bet you should keep it as the max amount we've ever seen is about 9x our bet.
The Killer Rabbit Bonus: You have six Knights that must cross the path of the Rabbit of Caerbannog with nasty big pointy teeth!
Thank-fully you hold the The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch which you can throw at one of five of the rabbit's hiding rocks. You start with 12x your bet.
Each incorrect guess kills one of the knights as they pass, and reduces your bonus prize. Once you pick successfully, the game calculates your winnings based on the amount of Knights you've managed to keep alive.
Scatters and Free Spins: 3 Spamalot slot logos anywhere on the screen act as scatters and triggers 10 free spins.
By far the best and hardest feature to get, once you do it's almost always worthwhile. After every spin you can get up to 5 extra wild symbols randomly distributed across the screen.
A good round will give you about 3 each time however, and a decent 50x to 100x your bet win. More is available, but that's our general experience.
You cannot get the bonus games or more scatters during the free spins.
What you do get is the jackpot symbol which shows up on reel 3. If you collect five during these 10 free spins you'll get a chance of winning one of the two progressive jackpots on show.
This takes you through a series of six click me bonus, where you'll win instant prizes and move to the next scene if you pick right. Pick wrong and the bonus end and you don't get the jackpot. The six act gets you one of the two jackpots.
In order you'll have to pick between: Chickens, Rabbits, Hands, Knights, Cows and Whatever That Is (a sort of monster).
We've only gotten through to this bonus game a couple of times ever, and each time it's a huge thrill knowing that jackpot could be just at the right pick.
That said, Playtech does favour larger betters, with the bigger your bets, the higher the chance of triggering this jackpot bonus game - which could be why we've only seen it a couple of times. Once you're in though, it's anyone's jackpot.
