So how do you get 8 of a kind wins on a 4-row game? Well, you get wins when symbols are adjacent from each other from left to right. But you also get wins when symbols are adjacent to each other from top to bottom. These are then added together.

Spirit of the River Bonus Features
Dual Ways Pays: Wins pay horizontally (left to right) and vertically (top to bottom). Wins on multiplier dual ways pays are added together.
Wild: The wild symbols substitute for all symbols except scatter. It can substitute for multiple symbols and payout for each win. The wild only appears in free spins.
Free Spins and Scatters: When a scatter lands on the reels it gets added to the spirit tower. Every 20 spins without completing the spirit tower, 2 segments are removed. Collect 4 scatters in the spirit tower and you'll trigger 8 free spins. Every 4 scatters collected will add +4 free spins.
On each free spin, one of the spirit modifiers will be randomly selected.
