You get 5 different YoYos as the wilds, and then Ace to 9 as the lower paying ones. It’s colourful and pretty enough but lacks a little personality, as you’d expect from a game based on a one-note toy that was popular in the 80s and 90s.
The Yo Yo’s Wild slot delivers on the wilds
Yo Yo Wild is a simple 5 reels, 3 row, 25 payline slot machine with scatters and wilds. What makes it a little special is that three scatters will give you one to two re-spins of the reels, where you’ll get anything from 5 to 8 extra wilds on screen.
How it does that is the fun bit. It randomly picks some of the better known tricks in YoYo’s history, have the toys perform on screen, and leave behind a trail of wild symbols.
So Walk the Dog gives you an L shape of wilds, Around the World a circle shape and so on.
When it works, it’s fun to watch; you get maybe 20x to 30x your bet and you leave with a little smile on your face. When it works.
It doesn’t deliver on particularly big wins
Maybe we were really unlucky, but the high paid Yo Yo symbols seemed to have gone on a walk because they were almost never on screen, and when they did show up, it wasn’t when the wilds were around.
Ultimately, we just got bored playing on this Yo Yo Wilds slot game. Mostly the tricks were repetitive and without paying out much, and after seeing the same trick again and again, you wonder why this toy was a sensation in the first place.
You probably won’t lose much on this Eyecon game, especially with a decent RTP of 96.5% and a minimum bet of 0.25 a spin.
But there are so many better mobile slot games out there that put features and theme together (Yggdrasil’s Nitro Circus slot is one the comes to mind) that we don’t think you’ll be spinning this Yo-Yo more than once.
