How did we find this out? What do we know about it? How close is it to hitting our screens?
We know you’re excited. But for this particular piece of news, you’ll have to have a little patience, as this is all very early stuff.
We spoke to NetEntertainment, the casino software creating this new slot game, at one of the biggest gaming conferences in the world, where they made the big reveal.
Here’s everything we know, some stuff we are putting in the wish list and an amazing piece of Guns n Roses merchandise you’re going to want, AND can win.
What to expect from the Guns n Roses video slot
This is a very different world for NetEnt.
Exclusive: 10 free spins on Jack & the Beanstalk + 100% up to £$€500.
Not because they are not use to launching big brand names (the South Park slot pops to mind, not to mention all their Universal Studios films series), but because this will be their first time diving into music.
And not just any music. They are entering straight into the hall of rock gods.
From storyline to the greatest hits playlists
Obviously, creating a Guns n Roses slot machine will be a little different from a game based around a script.
NetEntertainment slots are all about story-lines and leading you through colourful characters or scenes. Whether that’s Jack stealing the goose that laid the golden eggs, the animals running off for a breezy holiday in Tornado Farm Escape or the slot Aliens, where you’re hunting down face-huggers and egg hatching queens.
The point is; though you could argue that Axl Rose and Slash have lead colourful lives, we suspect a lot of those details won’t be in the slot game. So how will they try and create a rock world worthy of entertaining us?
All about the Guns n Rose songs
Because the ink is still fresh on the contract, NetEnt haven’t got any images, reels or gameplay to give us.
What they did at the conference was the songs, the music, the experience.
November Rain is still one of the top most expensive music videos ever made.
With the likes of November Rain, Knocking on Heavens Door and Sweet Child of Mine blasting through the speakers, NetEnt will have the whole of Guns and Roses greatest songs and hits to play with.
Why now? Why this slot game?
With Slash having made it very clear that he’d rather chew his own guitar arm off to the bone, rather than work with Axl Rose again… one of the greatest rock bands of the last couple of centuries lost their mojo.
The Guns n Roses slot is the closest you’ll get to having all the original cast members in one room, playing the music you love.
It’s also probably be why some of the members from the original band, who may not be doing quite as well in their solo careers as the man in the top hat, may be more than happy to licence out their name for one last final “tour”.
Our wish list
We have no doubt that NetEnt will do something brilliant with the infamous band. But that won’t stop us from putting our wish list somewhere, in the hope (maybe), that a NetEnt slot creator reads this and gets inspired.
Don’t worry, we only want 1% (2% max) of the gross profit for our ideas.
Failing that, we’ll accept one hell of a rock n’ roll slot.
1. Give us a Guns n Roses songs radio
To be fair, we can’t claim this is our original idea. We saw it on the Leander Dolly Parton slot, and we loved the concept.
Basically, as you spin, you get to pick and choose the song playing in the background. Your own little radio of their greatest hits. So if you don’t like Patience, just move on to November Rain and play that on an infinite loop.
2. Give us live concert shots on big wins
We get that it’s been a while since they, the proper Guns n Roses, have done a great concert.
We want the original band concerts from way back in the early 1990’s when they were at the top of their game.
We’ll accept music video shots, but to really ‘wow’ us give us the experience of seeing them live, once again, from our desktops and mobile screens.
Talking of which…
Leo Vegas: they get all NetEnt mobile slots one week before everyone else.
3. Make it a mobile and online slot
We are… 99% sure this is going to happen, but just in case, we just want to say that we will come knocking down on NetEnt’s door and start smashing furniture around if this isn’t the case.
Rock n’ Roll baby.
4. There’s got to be a big Slash solo bonus
We are big Slash fans. Who isn’t?
And if there ever was an opportunity to bring the cool to slots, then having Slash doing a guitar solo whilst the wins rack up on screen… would… be… just.. awesome.
Obviously, things like having the potential for big wins and solid entertainment on every spin are just as important.
But we are not going to tell NetEnt how to make slots. We know they didn’t become one of the biggest casino slots software because of their Swedish good looks.
These are just some ideas from a couple of rock fans to an office full of slot developers.
The best news? The Signed Guns n Roses Guitar
And because it wouldn’t be a music slot without throwing in some rock memorabilia in there, NetEnt have announced that there will be one hell of a star prize to win when the game is released.
That would be the signed Axl Rose and Slash guitar you will be able to win.
How, what and when? Damn if we know.
But we’ve seen the guitar with our own eyes, and whilst our first attempt at making a smash and grab for it at the conference was unsuccessful (the blood will probably wash out), we fully intent on winning it when it comes out.
