That’s right folks, not content to die and be reborn for over a decade, this time around Micheal Myers is back… as a Microgaming slot game.
Which just goes to show, you can’t keep a good horror icon down for long.
So why is this happening now? Which Microgaming casinos will have the pleasure of hosting it and when?
And will it be worth our time? Let’s see what we can deduce from the small amount of information we’ve been given.
Why make the Halloween movie slot now?
The 1978 slasher movie is, by all accounts, iconic.
We love Go Wild casino, who hosts Microgaming games and a couple of other software
Sure, over the years it’s become a little bit of a joke, with the franchise getting more and more ridiculous as the years went by.
Most of us haven’t probably seen Halloween since we were about 15 years old, at the friends house whose mum was strangely uncaring about the monsters on TV.
A classic horror film that is now nostalgic
But that’s kind of the appeal for Microgaming game studios.
This is a slot machine that, much like the serial killer in the series, will never never die.
“Halloween is a true classic and set the standard for modern horror films. It was immeasurably influential in the slasher genre of movies, so it is great to be working with such an iconic and respected brand.” David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming.
Because watching the Halloween movie is a rite of passage for most of us, even the ones who weren’t teens circa 1978.
Even if you haven’t watched the movie, chances are you’ve heard of it, seen friends dress up for halloween, or been grateful that it launched Jamie Lee Curtis career who will always be the first pair of boobs your teen eyes saw in Trading Places.
That last one may not be on everyone’s list.

The Halloween slot will come out Halloween 2017
Ok, we are making a huge leap here, because technically, Microgaming haven’t said exactly when this new mobile online slot machine is coming out.
But… come on.
Here’s the official line from Microgaming:
“Embracing all the elements of what made the movie such a success, our games team are busy developing a slot for release later in the year.” David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming.
Later on the year has to be November 2017
If they don’t release the ‘Halloween slot‘ for Halloween, we will not only be disappointed, but laugh at the ineptitude of the Microgaming team.
- Aliens
- Paranormal Activity
- Psycho
- The Invisible Man
- Lost Vegas
- Wild Blood
It’s in the title. It’s when we might actually watch the movie again, in some kind of weird retro nostalgia horror night.
It’s when we might be tempted to play on a game that is about serial killers and creepy houses.
Once Microgaming have officially announced the launch date, we will, of course, let you know.
But we’d bet our mint copy of Trading Places that it’s on the first week of November.
Will this new Microgaming game be any good?
There’s never any guarantees, but generally, film brands tend to be in good hands with one of the biggest online slot casino providers out there.
After all, this is the brand that got it’s hand on and made the Dark Knight Rises game.
It also has exclusive rights to the Jurassic Park online slot, and more recently, created the vastly popular Jurassic World mobile game.
Granted, they don’t always hit full marks, the game based on the Bridesmaids movie was average, at best, but you can’t deny it.
Generally they put their best foot forward when they get their hands on big blockbuster slot names.
But can you tell us anything about this Halloween game?
You’ve noticed how, so far, we’ve given you nothing related to paylines, bonus features, or reels, hey?
There’s a simple reason for that: we have none.

Microgaming are currently developing the Halloween slot game, and very little is known about it.
“We are excited to team up with Creative Licensing and Microgaming to bring Michael Myers and Halloween home to all of our loyal fans in the best possible ways through top licensees who create products we feel honour the character, film, and franchise.” Ryan Freimann, SVP of Compass (guys who own the Halloween brand).
What exactly will honour a movie that is 20 years old and full of cliches?
We do have a couple of clues…
Well, for one, we can pretty much guarantee that all the main characters will be back – unlike in NextGen’s Psycho slot which didn’t even feature Norman Bates.
Other than that they have been given free license to use that awesome soundtrack.
You know the one:
Admit it, there was a small chill running down your spine.
But I don’t want to wait that long!
We get it. You’ve just read about an exciting new movie slot game, and you want to play.
You don’t want to be told you have to wait till ‘later in 2017’ *cough*November*cough.
And we get it. So there’s really only one thing you can do.
