We haven’t written about new IGT slots in a recently, mostly because they haven’t given us anything to get that excited about in a while.
But then they gave us Keystone Kops slot, which we loved, and gave one lucky Casumo casino player one of their biggest wins in May 2018.
So we took a look at their next big instalment coming in June 2018 and we’ve asked ourselves: are they back in form, or is Keystone Kops just a random success?
What we know about the new Electric Tiger online slot:
We know plenty, though we’d like to say that this isn’t an Electric Tiger slot review. The game only comes out on the 28th of June, so at best we can make a wild guess on how it will play.
Unlike so many other gambling sites out there, we only review slots that we’ve actually played on our mobile phone and tablet.
That said, we know enough about this new IGT slot machine to make a few good guesses as to whether you’ll be playing come the end of the month.
What is the Electric Tiger slot?
Electric Tiger is a fifteen paylines slot machine, with expanding wilds and a simple click me bonus wheel feature. Watch the short 55 second video to see in game action.
What it isn’t is something like MegaJackpots Siberian Storm or the Dual Play version, which has those beautiful white tiger, but those hexagonal reels.
Instead, IGT game studios have gone back to basics and stuck with the 5×3 format with just 15 paylines to entertain.
But, that doesn’t mean this new Android and iPhone game is going to be boring, it just means that they’ve kept things simple.
What is this neon fruit machine theme?
IGT are the king of animal slots – from the storm games we’ve mentioned to Elephant King to the volatile Prowling Panther machine.
So when we heard about Electric Tiger, we couldn’t wait to see what this theme would be about. What we weren’t expecting was a fruit machine, with neon graphics and one tiger symbol.
Granted, that Tiger is the wild symbol, but this is no more a tiger animal game than the Laser Fruit slot is a game about laser discs.
So really, it’s better to think of this as a gambling fruity with bright colourful graphics. Overall it works, but it’s not exactly a stand out mobile slot.
What are the two main bonus game features?
Like we said, this 15 payline slot is simple, so you are really looking at two features:
- The expanding wild symbol
- The wheel of fortune cash bonus
Will these be enough to keep you hooked?
To stay with our starting point, Keystone Kops we loved because it was this massive jackpot slot game. You got multiple free spin features, constantly changing bonuses in the base game and a progressive.
That’s a lot to fit into a casino game, but it worked. In the same way, Electric Tiger is trying to do the opposite; keeping it simple.
Will the expanding wilds save the base game?
The problem with keeping it simple is that you can get long periods in the base game where you get little to nothing in wins. We suspect this mobile phone slot will suffer a little from that.
Mostly because with no multipliers, IGT are then forced to give you massive wins the old-fashioned way: by making 4 and 5 of a kind symbol wins count for something.
Is that bad? No. Not at all. In fact, it’s what has made IGT such a world-class brand in the first place.
Slots like Kitty Glitter, Cleopatra, Pixies of the Forest are games still played at land-based casinos worldwide, and for good reasons.
The wheel of fortune bonus may surprise everyone
This may be trying to emulate those older classics, but it’s totally modern in look and feel – you won’t find the Electric Tiger slot anywhere but at mobile and online casinos.
This is even more obvious when you trigger the click-me-game, which is all pretty 3D graphics that pop from the screen.
In fact, the way this bonus works will remind players far more of the Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin or even the Wheel of Fortune On Tour slot.
Mostly because you’ll get to spin a wheel, and then (if you are lucky) win a further bonus where you get to click on 5 further wheels, with even more cash prizes.
Who is this Electric slot game for?
Although IGT like to sell their games as being for ‘all fans of slot machines’, let’s be honest.
IGT definitely have a loyal fan base, and they are probably not out there playing kooky Thunderstruck slots or the fairytale Quickspin games.
Whilst Electric Tiger isn’t one of their most volatile slots, it is still up there. So it will give HUGE wins, up to 45,000 times the line bet.
But it might take its sweet time getting there, if at all. So be sure you use that minimum bet of 0.25, or roundabout because you’ll need to stick it out.
So come the 28th of June, we suspect that more experienced gamblers will enjoy this more.
The best IGT casinos to play come the 28th
If that sounds like you then good news! There are so many great IGT casinos to go play.
Unfortunately, IGT are not available in all countries; so if you live in Canada, Australia, Germany, the US and well, lots of other countries you won’t be able to play.
But, if you are a UK casino player, or in most of Europe, you have so many great places to spin, it’s hard to pick a favourite.
That said, if you have to start somewhere, Casumo casino might be a great place to start. If nothing else, they have one of the widest selections of some of the best gambling games online.
At least you’ll be entertained whilst you wait for the 28th to come around.
Meaning you’ll rarely be bored and you’ll have a very generous welcome offer to walk you through the door, regardless of where you are in the world.
