We know everyone is excited about possibly seeing the TV shows Narcos and Vikings as slot machines, or even getting a tease of what could be in the new Playboy Gold game by Microgaming.
But honestly, of all of them, we saw the trailer for Yggdrasil’s new Vikings Go To Hell slot, and it blew them all out of the water.
And it could be because we have a video. It could be because we love their other Viking video slots.
But it’s not because we have a whole load of information because we don’t: just a promise of a lot of awesome epic battles.
But isn’t that enough? You’ll see…
The Vikings Go To Hell slot looks amazing
You know how when you load up games like Gonzo’s Quest or Wild Seas by Elk Studios, you see a little video montage explaining a story?
Usually on Yggdrasil, NetEnt and Play’n Go slots, so if you are going to play, might as well win extra.
You then play the slot and never look back again.
Well, this is that montage. In short, we don’t have any idea what the actual slot machine is going to look like, but don’t worry.
You won’t care either after seeing these demons unleashed; and we’re talking about the Vikings, not the creatures that live in hell.

This is a 1 minute and 40-second video. Put the sounds on LOUD, enlarge the screen and get ready for some beheadings.
Proving that Vikings truly were the most kick-ass race, ever, you can’t deny that there’s a lot to love here.
Look at the detail of that demon! And whereas we’d expect the Vikings to be the ones in trouble based solely on the name; the truth is quite the opposite.
It’s clear here that they are the ones doing the hunting and heading straight for battle and glory – and we’d expect nothing less from these adventurers.
This is teamwork at it’s finest, as they quickly and brutally decimate their prey and leave the demon wishing it had been a good boy in another life.
Why are we so excited for a non-existing Yggdrasil slot?
We know it may sound a little crazy to get all worked up for a game we literally know nothing about.
- Vikings Go Wild
- Cyrus the Virus
- Mega Joker
- Holmes and the Stolen Stones
- Jungle Books
Usually, we at least have a TV show or film to talk about, like how when NetEnt announced their surprise Jumanji 2018 slot.
And there’s no popular culture reference; nothing that special about an online slot about Vikings.
Every software provider and their mothers have one of those; from Red Tiger Gaming’s Wild Nords to Play’n Go’s Viking Runecraft, Vikings are part of popular slot culture, definitely.
But these particular Yggdrasil Vikings have a history that is hard to beat and make any new games all the more exciting.
1. It’s a sequel to Vikings Go Wild and Vikings Go Berzerk slots
If you don’t know these two volatile slot machines by Yggdrasil Gaming, then clearly you’ve been reading the wrong blogs.
Because these two have to be some of the best games around, and certainly some of the best by this casino games studio.
You encounter these intrepid explorers in the light and fun Vikings Go Wild mobile slot, where they look fresh-faced and happy to sail the seven seas… until they come across the evil sea serpent whom they must defeat.
As with all good sequels, the Vikings Go Berzerk is darker. It’s clear here that the Vikings have seen things, possibly experience some post-traumatic stress, and now wear war paint at all times whilst slashing the throats of mermaids.
But this is nothing in comparison to the Vikings Go To Hell character who, according to the video, have embraced the fate in Hela’s kingdom and will jump straight into the jaws of death if it means adventure and treasure.
2. It will embrace those sticky wild mechanics we love
What made the previous Yggdrasil Vikings online slot so much fun is that they merge storytelling and game mechanics so beautifully.
Casumo Casino give you a world of adventure, with level ups, badges, and plenty of rewards along the way.
Specifically how during the free spins the characters can turn wild and stay sticky for the duration of the game.
Berzerk cranks the ante a notch by giving you extra bonus features during the free spins, and making it possible to turn all the characters wild at the same time.
So we can expect something along the same lines here when they go to Hell, just, you know, better.
3. Yggdrasil slot games are rarely boring
You can buy every license for every movie that has ever existed, but unless you have good game-play on your slots, you won’t find much of an audience.
Just look at how miserable Playtech failed with their Dirty Dancing phone game after all.
There’s a reason why they won Innovator Supplier of the Year 2018 at the International Gaming Awards this year. They innovate. They do things differently.
Like providing in-game tournaments in any slot. Or creating a game like Jungle Books which has 45 different bonus game combinations.
The “Vikings Go slots brand” is their baby – their Starburst to their NetEnt, you could say.
They will be putting all their heart and soul into making this their big release of the year, and us (for one), can’t wait.
If you don’t think you can either, you can find a whole selection of Yggdrasil slots at Vera & John casino, with 20 free spins no deposit to get you started and a huge welcome bonus to keep you playing. T&Cs Apply
